On a flat roof, every litre of rain has to go somewhere. If it can’t get out fast, it ponds, seeps into the slab and shows up months later as damp patches on the ceiling below. A parapet drain gives that water a clear exit. It sits at the base of the parapet wall, collects water at roof level and sends it out sideways into a downpipe or spout. Jayna’s parapet drains are made in AISI-304 stainless steel, so they don’t rust, crack or turn brittle in the sun the way plastic and cast iron outlets often do. Each one has a grating that keeps leaves and debris out of the pipe. They suit homes, apartment terraces, commercial rooftops and podium decks.

A parapet drain is a rainwater outlet set into the parapet wall around a flat roof or terrace. It collects water at roof level and sends it horizontally through the wall into a downpipe or spout outside.
A roof floor drain sits in the roof slab and drains water straight down through a pipe inside or below the building. A parapet drain sits at the side, in the wall, and drains water outward. Parapet drains are common when there’s no space for an internal pipe, or when the downpipe runs down the outside of the building.
Terrace drains face direct sun, heavy rain and standing water all year. Plastic outlets can crack and fade in UV light, and cast iron rusts. Stainless steel handles both conditions and doesn’t need painting or regular replacement.
It depends on the roof area, the slope and how much rain your region gets. A common approach is at least two outlets per roof, so water still has a way out if one gets blocked. Ask your architect or plumber to size them for your roof.
Most roof leaks don’t start with cracks in the roof. They start with water that has nowhere to go. Jayna’s stainless steel parapet drains give rainwater a direct way off your terrace…
